Shining like mirror but with deep indentations like a shield would have. This brooch actually stands well alone but holds an interesting secret. The three holes make up a friction lock for another jewelry piece (The Heart of Song). Coming up with this simple mechanism took me over two years (since I didn't have any experience in lock making and designing). There really wasn't anything similar I could use as an inspiration since not many jewelry makers design reusable and modular pieces. Two years was a long time for such a simple lock but it was worth it.

The brooch is sterling silver (925).
